Thousands Poson sight-seers who were traveling along the A-9 road enjoyed herbal drinks served by troops.
Senior officers, other distinguished invitees in the area were present at the commencement of the Dansela.
Meanwhile a special ‘Poson’ Zone, ‘Poson Udanaya' organized by 56 Division at 56 Division play ground in Kokeliya drew a record gathering of spectators and children in the area.
‘Poson’ Zone, comprised of a pandol, rice and ice cream Dansel, presentation of devotional songs, display of lanterns and a replica of the Mihinthale rock, etc adorned the premises on ‘Poson’ day
All the troops under 56 Division collectively worked to make this ‘Poson Udanaya' a successful and a grand one.
Festivities organized mainly to develop religious harmony among all communities in the area were ceremonially opened by Major General Boniface Perera, Commander SF HQ (W) on the invitation of Brigadier D.A.R Ranawaka General Officer Commanding (GOC) 56 Division.
Ven Etambagaskada Kalyanatissa Nayaka Thero, senior officers and civil dignitaries attended the occasion.
