In conformity with Army traditions, Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) regimental troops saluted their Colonel Commandant, General Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army during a Guard of Honour this morning (21) at SLAC Regimental Headquarters, Modera, Colombo 15.
General Jagath Jayasuriya received this salute on account of his recent promotion to the rank of General.
General Jagath Jayasuriya on arrival at the parade ground reviewed the Guard Turnout at first after Commanding Officer of the Headquarters’ Battalion received him.
Brigadier N.I De Silva, Centre Commandant SLAC welcomed the four star General and conducted him to the special dais, in keeping with military formalities. The Parade Commander, Captain Lahiru Edirisinghe of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) accompanied the Commander for reviewing.
Seconds after that, the Commander from the special dais, took the salute of the Guard of Honour, presented by some 70 SLAC troopers.
At the end of the parade, the Commander address the SLAC officers at the SLAC auditorium.
