Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, in his capacity as the Colonel Commandant of the Regiment of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps (SLAC) attended the SLAC Inter-unit Badminton tournament finals Tuesday (11) afternoon at the gymnasium, Army Headquarters as the Chief Guest.
The overall championship of the tournament was won by 1 Reconnaissance Regiment SLAC Regiment team, pushing the 4 SLAC team to be the runners-up after several close tussles.
Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, was introduced to badminton players of both teams before the final encounter, witnessed by the Chief Guest.
Congratulating the winners, the Commander gave away the Championship trophy and other merit awards to the winners.
Senior officers, SLAC officers, other ranks and badminton fans witnessed the finals.
