Around 25 Army personnel, including officers serving the Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ-West) and SFHQ- Central during a four-day first aid course learnt how they could respond in the event of disasters as the Army’s ‘Search and Rescue Team’ (SAR Team).
The first aid course, supported by Sri Lanka Red Cross Society was held at Panagoda Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps auditorium during June 7 - 10.
The course considering eventual disaster emergencies covered emergency management, casualty management, injuries caused by accidents, natural disasters, poisoning, snake-biting, etc.
Course instructors of the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society comprised of Dr. Preethi Panditharatne, Mr Upali Amarasekara, Mr Lalith Jayaratne and Mr Jayabuddhi Gunathilake.
