MCIP Staff Workshop Begins in Colombo


Multinational Communication Interoperability Programme (MCIP) planning staff workshop 2 (SW2)  started on Monday (22) with the participation of 90 officials including 63 Military Officers above the rank of colonel, from 25 countries, at Hotel Galadari, Colombo in collaboration with United State Pacific Command (USPACOM) and Sri Lanka Army.

This programme will go on for five days, from 22nd to 26th April, with the objective of improving International Corporation during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations in the Asia Pacific Theater.

During the SW 2 delegation will interact with number of prominent personalities from the Sri Lankan Armed Forces and civil institutions including Director General Disaster Management Center. Several Senior Sri Lankan officers from Armed Forces have been attending the MCIP annually since 1983 and Five Senior Officers from the Sri Lanka Army attend for SW 2 this year.

The next staff workshop (SW3) as a final programme is scheduled to be held in Thailand.
