551 Brigade of 55 Division under the Security Force Headquarters (Jaffna) organized a New Year festival at the Government Tamil Mix School grounds Championpaththu on Saturday (20).
A variety of traditional games and events were included in the day’s itinerary which ran into late night, blended with a mega musical show coloured by the 20th Sri Lanka National Guards (20 SLNG) beat group.
Brigadier B.H.M.A Wejesingha, General Officer Commanding 55 Division graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Rev Father Jesting, Rev Father Jesurathnam, representatives of the police, a large number of villagers and many senior officers were present at the occasion.
