Men’s and women’s teams of Army performed exceptionally well securing the highest number of medals at the 28th National Regatta held at Diyawanna Lake recently (4, 5 and 6) with the participation of over 400 rowers representing 16 Sports Clubs. Both teams, with a tally of 31 medals, emerged runners-up in open and over 18 events.
Army women’s team after participating in five events secured one gold medal, four silver medals and two bronze medals, while individual women rowers bagged two gold medals, thirteen silver medals and four bronze medals. Meanwhile men’s team won two silver medals and three bronze medals while their individual medal tally accounts to two golds, sixteen silver and thirteen bronze.
