With the objective of raising the mutual understanding, values, attitudes and inter-relationship in a multi-cultural, religious and multi-ethnic society under the theme of ‘One Country-One Nation’, a Sinhala and Hindu New Year festival was conducted by the soldiers of 64 Division under the Security Force Headquarters (Mullaittivu) at Oddusuddan school ground on Friday (5).
The festival conducted under the guidance of Major General L.B.R Mark, Security Force Commander Mullaittivu, was organized on the invitation of Thunukkai Zonal Education Office.
The day’s itinerary included a variety of both Sinhala and Hindu traditional events including cultural dances and fun games.
Brigadier H.W.M.S.D.B. Pananwala, General Officer Commanding, 64 Division, senior educational officers, large numbers of Army personnel and more than 1000 students were presented at the occasion.
