681 &;amp; 682 Brigades Organize Community Health Programmes


681 and 682 Brigade Headquarters under the 68 Division of the Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) recently organized the conduct of a mobile medical camp and a blood donation campaign for the benefit of civilians and patients.

29th Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops with the help of four medical officers treated more than 150 patients in Puthukudiyiruppu and Mullivaikkal areas during a mobile clinic conducted at the Anandapuram Government’s Tamil Mixed School on Sunday (24). On the same occasion drugs and necessary medication were also provided to those civilians.

On the same day, a parallel arrangement at Mullivaikkal Government’s Tamil Mixed School (East) gave away 50 dry ration bags to 50 families in the area. Each packet contained rice (25 kg), potatoes (1 kg), onions (1 kg), dhal (1 kg), salt (1 kg), soap (15 pieces), tooth brushes (4), toothpaste tubes (2) and a packet of sweetmeats.


Meanwhile, 8 officers and 160 other ranks enthusiastically offered blood for the use of patients at Mullaittivu hospital during a blood donation campaign organized by the 682 Brigade Headquarters on Tuesday (26).

On the instructions of the General Officer Commanding, 68 Division, 681 and 682 Brigade Commanders, together with the support of other officers and other ranks finalized those arrangements.
