Vijayabahu Seva Vanitha Gifts Rs 1 m to 'Abimansala - II' Project

Troops serving Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR),  mindful of welfare roles, being pursued by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB) for the best interest of disable War Heroes, offered their share of generosity towards the ongoing wellness resort, ‘Abimansala - II’ construction project at Vilpitawatta, Kamburupitiya.

Mrs Preethi Samarathunga, Chairperson, VIR Seva Vanitha Unit on Tuesday (02) after meeting Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, SVAB at SVAB Headquarters, presented her with a cheque to the value of Rs 1 million towards the ‘Abimansala - II’ project in progress.

In the same manner, VIR troops, on the instructions of their Colonel of the Regiment Major General R.V Samarathunga, have already undertaken the entire cost of one Villa in the Kamburupitiya project.    

Mrs Jayasuriya acknowledging the donation on behalf of the ‘Brave Hearts’, the fund-raising organ, expressed her gratitude to all those serving the VIR for their thoughtfulness.

‘Abimansala - II’ complex, meant for rest and recreation of disable War Heroes of the Southern Province is to be opened shortly. The first of this model was established at Anuradhapura and is now in full operation.

Together with Mrs Preethi Samarathunga was Mrs Wijesekara, a senior VIR Seva Vanitha member at the time of the donation to the SVAB Tuesday (2) morning.
