With the objective of improving IT and computer knowledge among students in Padavi Sripura region in 62 Division area of the Security Forces Headquarters - Wanni (SFHQ-W), steps were taken to establish an IT centre at Sripura Rajamaha Vihara premises with the initiatives, taken by 621 Brigade Headquarters and 62 Division in Wanni.
On the day of the opening (Saturday 29) of the IT Centre, Major General Boniface Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W, donated 30 computers, 3 lazer printers, 1 scanner and other accessories, worth over Rs 1.6 million to the new IT Centre, thanks to generosity offered to the SFHQ-W by London-based Mr Lucky Gallage of Stroud Rotary Club which completed its 90 years of existence.
Coordination of the whole programme and the ceremony was done by troops of the 62 Division and the 621 Brigade Headquarters.
