The new mess building for Warrant Officers (WOs) and Sergeants working for 611 Brigade in Tharanikulam under 61 Division saw its birth during a brief ceremony on Saturday (15).
The entire construction, erected by the troops serving the Brigade under the supervision of Engineer Service troops, was brought to completion within two months as a result of assistance given by donors and well-wishers.
At the request of 611 Brigade Commander, Brigadier K.G.D Perera, a simple ceremony saw the new building opened by Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division on Saturday (15).
Over 20 Senior Non Commissioned Officers (NCOs) are able to use the facility at a time.
