Army Constructed Deegavapiya Bodhi Perimeter Wall Opened


Lavish financial grants offered by all ranks of the Task Force-3, 631 Brigade and 28 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) serving Ampara area constructed a new Bodhiya perimeter wall plus a golden fence at historic Deegawapiya Raja Maha Viharaya.

The artistically done wall was declared open by Most Ven. Udugama Sri Buddharakkithabidhana Maha Nayaka Thero of Asgiri Chapter on Wednesday (18) during a ceremony. Army troops after its foundation-laying ceremony in March, this year completed the entire construction within a span of four months.

Ven. Daranagama Kusaladhamma Nayaka Thero, incumbent, Sri Sambodhi Viharaya, Colombo 7, Ven. Nanpurawe Buddharakkitha Thero, Incumbent, Deegawapiya Raja Maha Viharaya, incumbent, Buddhangala Rajamaha Viharaya, Commander, 631 Brigade Headquarters, 28 SLNG Commanding Officer and soldiers and devotees took part in the opening ceremony.
