A three-day resident workshop on ‘Collective Leadership Training’ took place at Ichchankulam, Taranikulam Ganesh Vidyalaya with the coordination work done by 61 Division Headquarters.
The programme consisted of leadership training sessions, development of self-confidence, art and craft training workshop, etc was attended by more than 476 students from both Northern and Southern schools. The event was organized with the intention of promoting goodwill and reconciliation among different ethnicities.
Mr B. Pinto Jayawardane, Coordinator, Unity Mission with the support of the 611 Brigade Commander and the 61 Division General Officer Commanding, Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, conducted the programme which consisted of musical features, drama performances and collective games during the whole 3 day period.
Lanka Ekamuthu Organization with the support of Vavuniya North Department of Education assisted the conduct of this workshop for the benefit of hundreds of school children, living in the Vavuniya Ichchankulam Grama Seva Niladhari sector and those who attended it from the South.
The workshop commenced on June 29 went on till Monday (2).
