Sri Lanka Army troops, now at the forefront of erecting more and more new houses in the north for resettled civilians, on the directions of the government and other relevant agencies, embarked on another house construction project in Kombavil area under 68 Division in Puthukudiyiruppu on Tuesday (15).
Brigadier K.P.A Jayasekara, General Officer Commanding (GOC), 68 Division at the auspicious minute, cut the first sod and laid the first foundation stone to build a total of 50 new houses in the village, amidst blessings.
The programme coincides with the government’s ongoing programme to build new houses for the displaced who are being accommodated in new housing schemes.
Brigadier Jayasekara after the simple stone-laying ceremony inspected the proposed construction plan for the village and instructed his officials accordingly.
