With the objective of further uplifting living standards of 50 resettled families in the Mankulam Grama Seva Division under Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN), the ‘Foundation of Goodness’ gave away bicycles, seed red onions and dry ration packets to the inhabitants during a brief weekend ceremony at Mankulam Maha Vidyalaya premises.
The donation, coordinated by SFHQ-KLN had been sponsored by Mr Kusil Gunasekara chief trustee, ‘Foundation of Goodness’ and members of the organization.
Under the programme, each resettled family was gifted with a brad new bicycle, a 35 kg sachet of seed red onions and a bag of dry rations, valued at Rs 3000/= during the brief ceremony.
Major General Nandana Udawatta, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, Mr Kusil Gunasekara, senior members of the donor organization, Commander, Task Force - 3, Grama Seva officer, several state officials attended the brief ceremony.
Resettled civilians after receipt of those incentives thanked the Army for organizing and coordinating the humanitarian project, meant for improvement of their livelihoods.
