The Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) last Wednesday (29) organized a couple of activities to mark its 2nd anniversary of founding at Headquarters premises.
Major General Nandana Udawatta, Commander, SFHQ-KLN attended those religious, sports and entertainment activities as Chief Guest.
At the outset, all the troops serving the SFHQ-KLN participated in a special Bodhi Pooja at Wevusiri temple on the banks of Iranamadu tank as the first segment of the anniversary arrangements.
A basketball encounter, competed by a few teams of the troops serving the area took centre stage of the commemorative activities with many hundreds of troops flocking to witness the competition. The team of the SFHQ-KLN carried the championship trophy and 9 Sri Lanka Signal Corps players became the runner-up. Trophy and other colours were awarded to the winners by Major General Udawatta.
A musical entertainment that followed late into that night provided fun and amusement to the troops who took part in the anniversary arrangements. As one more item on the anniversary agenda, all ranks were entertained to a sumptuous luncheon on that day.
