A computer proficiency course, organized jointly by Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) Headquarters and Orient Academy for the benefit of SLSR officers and other ranks, is now underway with the participation of many soldiers.
The computer course No. 1, followed by 51 soldiers ended after the certificate awarding ceremony on the same day when the course No. 2 with 128 soldiers began last week.
Major General D R A B Jayathilake, Colonel of the Regiment graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Mr Giragama, a leading businessman on the same occasion declared that he would give 20 scholarships for computer courses to the children of fallen War Heroes as a mark of tribute to the SLSR soldiers. This enables them to follow computer courses free of charge.
On the same occasion, 6 more scholarships for children of disable War Heroes were also awarded. Major General Jayathilake gave away those scholarships.
