OVER 9000 members of the public in Trincomalee during a special Poson Dansela (free eating house), organized by Army’s 22 Division on Poson Poya Day enjoyed meals, as it was held after an absence of nearly 20 years.
The treat, organized by Army personnel, serving the 22 Division on the instructions of its General Officer Commanding 22 Division, Brigadier S. Perera served rice and curry to all the visitors who entered the Anuradhapura junction area at Trincomalee to visit Poson decorations. All the Brigades and Units in the Division have extended their support to this meritorious project.
Religious observances, conducted by Buddhist and Hindu priests, and Moulavis of Islamic faith inaugurated the Dansela which served meals from 5.30 p.m. until late into the night.
