A DONATION of Rs.100,000/= to the ‘Brave Hearts’ project which is engaged in the construction of the ‘Abimansala’ (Wellness Resort) for dependent disable War Heroes on Wednesday (30) received one more boost to the value of Rs. 100,000/= from old Nalandians.
The donation, representing the college and its 1994 Batch old boys was made by Messrs Dilan Wijewardene, Dulip Samarasekera and Sampath Wijesinghe to Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya, President of Seva Vanitha Army Branch, on the sidelines of the SVAB’s monthly meeting for June at SVAB auditorium.
During the meeting, Mrs. Rohini Wasantha Kumara was appointed Assistant Secretary while Mrs. Nilanjani Peiris was appointed the SVAB Assistant Public Relations Officer.
SVAB members also made it an opportunity to appreciate the services of several Army Officers who were on transfer after serving the SVAB. Major E.M.I.K. Ekanayake, Captain W.M.H.K. Gunarathne and Lieutenant G.M. Bodaragama were presented with souvenirs as tokens of memory on the occasion.
