A TEAM OF UK based women philanthropists came forward to donate eleven air mattresses for the use of residential inmates at Ranaviru Sevana rehabilitation centre at Ragama during a recent brief ceremony at the centre.
Mrs Anula Wijerathne, Mrs Sunethra Panagoda, Mrs Ramani Yapa, Mrs Srimathi Wickramasuriya and Mrs Mala Danarathne, all residents in the UK met Brigadier R.V. Samarathunga, Director Rehabilitation and made the donation on Wednesday (17).
The same group of ladies earlier this year donated seven artificial legs to the Ranaviru Sevana to be distributed among War Heroes who had lost their legs during operations against LTTE terrorists in the past.
Brigadier Samarathunga thanked the donors for their thoughtfulness on behalf of the Army and appreciated their gesture.
