On National Day Eve Commander Inspects Army Stalls

ON THE eve of the National Day and the opening of “Deyata Kirula” Mega Exhibition in Kandy, Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya made an inspection tour around the 9 acre extent area allocated for Army Exhibition Stalls Wednesday (3) evening in order to receive a first hand experience.

Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, accompanied by respective Regimental Commanders and Senior Officers visited each and every stall, produced by all Regiments in the Army and saw for himself how smoothly such exhibits, ranging from arms and ammunition to armoured vehicles have been displayed at each venue.

The Exhibition that coincides with the 62nd National Independence Day has set apart nine acres of land exclusively for Army exhibits, particularly in re-cognition of the invaluable services being rendered by the Army. Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya during his visits to the stalls instructed officers organizing the stalls in various areas of interest and spoke to them, inquiring into their needs, refreshments and accommodation.
