Troops of 231 &;amp; 233 Brigades Conducted Social Services on Thai Pongal Day

TROOPS of 231 and 233 Brigades in the east engaged in several social service projects work on 14th January, the Thai Pongal Day in villages that come under those Brigade areas.

One of them was the cleaning of Hindu temple and its premises in Kudapokuna village in a self-help programme conducted by the troops with participation of the priest of the temple on Thai Pongal Day (14). 

Meanwhile, troops of the same Brigade cleared Manampitiya Maha Vidyalaya premises on the same day (14) with the participation of the principal of the school and members of Civil Defence Force in the area.

In the meantime, Thai Pongal Day celebration was organized by the troops of the 233 Brigade with the participation of people in Kandaladi area at Kandaladi Hindu temple on 14th January.
