LIEUTENANT GENERAL Jagath Jayasuriya, Commander of the Army visited Jaffna this afternoon (09) to assess the security situation, Army assisted development projects and to see for himself the welfare measures of officers and soldiers serving in the peninsula.
On arrival, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya was received by Security Forces Commander Jaffna Major General LBR Mark at the Palaly Airport.
Commander of the Army received a feedback on the Jaffna security situation at the Security Forces Headquarters, Jaffna from Division Commanders, Brigade Commanders and other senior officers serving there.
During the discussion, Commander of the Army explained Army’s future vision and numerous welfare measures being effected.
Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe too joined with the Commander on this visit.
