NORTH & EAST: TROOPS on their search and clear operations in the areas of VISUAMADU, AMPAKAMAM, AKKARAYANKULAM, NALLUR, VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL, PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU, and IRALAIKULAM recovered, eighty-seven anti personnel mines, one Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG), seven RPG chargers, two 81 mm mortar bombs, two hand grenades, six Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) links, nine 60 mm mortar bombs, six 60 mm mortar fuses, three T-56 magazines, one silencer weapon and ten 82 mm mortar bombs on Saturday (24).
Meanwhile, troops engaged in search operations in the east, recovered four hand grenades, eight hundred and forty-eight antipersonnel mines and eight hundred and fifty antipersonnel mine fuses from TRINCOMALEE, KANNIYA PILLADI and IRALAIKULAM areas on the same day (24).
