CDS Opens Army Tattoo's 6th Day

THE sixth day of the Army Tattoo on Thursday (26) witnessed a packed crowd as the mega spectacle is reaching its closure by Friday (23) evening. Thursday’s ceremonial inauguration was graced by the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Sarath Fonseka as Chief Guest on the invitation of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.

General Fonseka was received by the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya on arrival at the venue. General Sarath Fonseka hoisted the National Flag while Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya hoisted the Army flag and Chief of Staff of CDS office Major General G.P.R. De Silva hoisted the CDS flag and inaugurated the fourth day of the year’s most adventurous show.

This mega spectacle that highlights Army heroism, gallantry, acrobatics and an assortment of undisputed skills of the Army, including simulation attacks on Puthumattalan, model attacks on enemy strongholds, drill displays, etc closes on 23rd October 2009.
