THE Chief Guest for the second day of the Army Tattoo at Kettarama stadium was the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya. The Chief of Staff of the Army Major General Mendaka Samarasinghe and Mrs. Anusha Samarasinghe received the Army Commander Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya and Mrs. Manjulika Jayasuriya on their arrival at the Kettarama stadium.
The Chief Guest Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, hoisted the Army flag and inaugurated the day’s proceedings. The Army Tattoo that highlights Army heroism, gallantry, acrobatics and an assortment of undisputed skills of the Army, including simulation of attack on Puthumattalan, model attacks on enemy strongholds, drill displays, etc will continue until 23rd October 2009 beginning at 5.00 p.m. every day.
