PUBLIC relations between troops and civilians in Jaffna are fast growing and turning better and better as total normalcy prevails in the peninsula with development work in full swing.
Troops attached to 3rd Volunteer Battalion of Vijayaba Infantry Regiment (VIR) that come under 521 Brigade in the 52 Division recently took part in a massive “Shramadana” (Self-help) campaign to clean the famous Vallipuram Hindu Kovil (temple) in Jaffna.
About 50 officers and other ranks in the company of a large number of civilians and devotees enthusiastically offered their generosity for this cleaning project that lasted for more than six hours.
All the participants were entertained to refreshments during the collective work.
