COLOMBO: As a result of investigations conducted by a special Police team in COLOMBO, the flat of a housing complex in MODERA, MATTAKKULIYA was raided on Monday (24) and the Police recovered a stock of explosive items.
The recovery included one suicide jacket of 5 kg, one sophisticated gun, one hundred and thirty-five rounds of ammunition used for that weapon, two magazines, five hand grenades, thirteen cyanide capsules, five pen torch batteries set to be fixed on suicide kits, one remote controller, two mobile remote controllers, 15 ft long detonator code and one detonator.
The items had been secretly hidden inside an iron cabinet inside the house.
