Disable Soldiers to Receive Full Pension

CABINET of Ministers had decided to grant full pension for disabled War Heroes after they reached 55 years of age. Their spouses and the children are also entitled to pensions, according to new proposals passed in parliament. 

The earlier procedure was to give half of their pension money for disable War Heroes after they reached 55 years and their dependants were not entitled for a pension.

The proposal was forwarded to the Cabinet by the Ministry of Defence according to the Media Minister Laksman Yapa Abeyawardhana. Cabinet also decided to continue pension for widows of War Heroes who died in action, even though they got re-married, according to Minister Abeyawardhana.
