LTTE Grenades, Launchers &;amp; Explosives Continue to Emerge

WANNI: DURING search and clear operations conducted by the Army in the general areas of PULIYANPOKKANAI, VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL and PUTHUKUDIYIRUPPU on Monday (29), forty-six hand grenades, twenty-four Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG),  three RPG launchers, eight RPG chargers, nine claymore mines, four anti tank mines, one smoke bomb, thirty-four rounds of .50 ammunition, one I-com set, one suicide kit, three 60 mm illumination rounds, one thousand four hundred and fifty-five rounds of T-56 ammunition, three Improvised Explosive Devices, one shotgun, seven hundred rounds of Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) ammunition, six MPMG links, one 12.7 ammunition, one 9 mm pistol, three 9 mm magazines, seven T-56 weapons, seventeen 60 mm mortar bombs, thirty-nine anti personnel mines, two hundred and ninety-three silver colour tags  (hand type), one compass, ten detonators, sixteen Arul bombs, twenty-five 81 mm bombs and four 81 mm fuses were collected by the troops. 

     Meanwhile, BATTICALOA Policemen in the east conducted a special search operation in KONDUVALCHENAI area on Monday (29) and found four T-56 weapons, one Light Machine Gun (LMG) and one G3 weapon.
