WANNI & EAST: TROOPS on search and clear operations in RAMANADAPURAM, VISUAMADU, VELLAMULLIVAIKKAL, and PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU areas recovered one T-56 weapon, fourteen thousand eight hundred and sixty-four rounds of T-56 ammunition, nine 81 mm mortar bombs, thirty-two Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), one thousand and ninety-seven rounds of Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) ammunition, forty-six 60 mm mortar bombs, twelve 60 mm Para bombs, two boxes of 60 mm mortar charges, one 9 mm pistol, thirty-four rounds of 9 mm pistol ammunition, ten Arul bombs, one un-identified gun, two radio sets, four RPG chargers, three anti personnel mines, ten thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine rounds of 7.62 ammunition, one Night Vision Device (NVD), two 15 HP Outboard Motor (OBM), one pressure mine , nine claymore mines weighing about 8 kg each and eight hand grenades on Wednesday (17).
Meanwhile, troops operating in the general areas of IYANKERNI and KALKUDAH, BATTICALOA recovered two T-56 weapons, 1 kg of TNT explosives, four hundred and forty-four rounds of T-56 ammunition, five Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), five hand grenades and one T-56 magazine during the searches following information received from civilians Wednesday (17) morning.
