NORTH: EXTENSIVE and specific area searches being conducted by troops in the aftermath of the War continued to find more and more weapon hauls from PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU, VISUAMADU and KILINOCHCHI areas during Thursday (11).
Thirty-four 60 mm mortar bombs, seventeen maps, seventeen 120 mm mortar bombs, 330 kg of C-4 explosives, thirty-two T-56 weapons, two Multi Purpose Machine Guns (MPMG), fifty-eight MPMG links, one Rocket Propelled Grenade launcher (RPG), eighty-seven RPG chargers, one hundred and ninety-seven RPG bombs, one thousand six hundred and forty-six rounds of 12.7 mm ammunition, 20 kg of explosives, one hundred and forty-six detonators, one 130 mm artillery round, one 7.62 mm pistol with magazine, two explosive kits, nine 20 mm (API) ammunition boxes, one 40 mm charger, one T-56 weapon part, four T-56 magazines, one I-com set, one 9 mm pistol, one shot gun, one 140 mm mortar barrel, one base plate, one gun carrier, four Thermo-baric weapons, one T-81 weapon, ninety-eight hand grenades (Thamilar), seventy-three anti personnel mines, one 60 mm mortar bomb, sixty-three hand grenades, thirty-three trappings, two 152 mm mortar bombs, six 122 mm mortar bombs, eight RPG 7 fuse boxes, one 40 mm grenade launcher, one 40 mm gas canister, four claymores weighing about 12.5 kg each, three claymores weighing about 2.5 kg each, one pressure mine, four Arul bombs, twelve rounds of pedal gun ammunition, two rounds of 30 Kagun ammunition, two suicide jackets, three Light Machine Gun (LMG) drums, three rounds of .50 ammunition, nine hundred and twenty TN thunders, four thousand and two hundred rounds of T-56 ammunition, seventy-four detonators, six thousand and five hundred and fifty-two rounds of 7.62x54 ammunition, General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) ammunition, three detonator cords, seven full switches. Five digital telecom bases, one transistor analyzer, one logic analyzer, one calibration server set, one data connection, one station soldering iron, three power cables, one SMG device, one digital sound leveler, two computer connection tables, two analog telephone adapters, one PC cable tester, three DSB boards, one sub cable, one trick laser, one multi band receiver, one multi meter, one trill blebby, one magnetic meter, one audio signal generator, one digital power meter and one adopter, two hundred and ninety-five 60 mm mortar bombs, seventeen LTTE maps, fourteen T-56 weapons, one 60 mm mortar barrel, one T-56 weapon body part, one hundred and forty-six detonator, one I-com set, one 40 mm grenade, one 130 mm artillery shell, one 7.62 mm pistol, one 7.62 mm magazine, one T-56 magazine, nine 20 mm API ammunition box, one suicide kit, twenty-eight 130 mm empty case, 20 kg of high explosives, fifty-seven Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) link, fifteen Arul bombs, one 9 x 19 mm pistol, 9 x 19 mm pistol magazines, twenty-seven 9 mm ammunition, six 81 mm HE bombs, three 81 mm mortar bomb chargers, four Light Machine Gun (LMG) drums, six hundred and thirty T-56 ammunition, one 122 m mortar bomb, 20 T-56 magazines, seven hundred and five MPMG ammunition, twenty-five hand grenades, six hundred and seventy-seven electric detonator, one suicide kit, one 12.5 kg claymore mine, one 12.7 blank ammunition box, one trapping fuse, one MPMG drum and two shotguns were recovered on Thursday (11).
Meanwhile, troops in VISUAMADU and KILINOCHCHI areas recovered one T-56 weapon, one claymore mine, ninety-four 60 mm mortar bombs, eighteen 81 mm mortar bombs, two hundred and twenty mortar charges, two Bangalore torpedoes, one hundred anti personnel mines, four Arul bombs, one T-81 weapon, 20 kg of C-4 explosives, one Out Board Motor (OBM) during their search operations on Thursday (11).
Following items were also recovered from AMPAKAMAM area and destroyed by troops on the same day (11). They include two hand grenades, three claymore bombs, thirty-one anti personnel mines, fifty- seven fuses, seventy-seven hand grenades (Terr), sixteen Arul bombs, three detonators, four Rocket Propelled Grenade (RPG) bombs, two RPG chargers, one 81 mm Mortar bombs, one 60 mm mortar bombs, one aircraft bomb, 750 g c-4 explosives, 25 m det code, 1.5 mm thread and two non-electric detonators.
In the meantime, troops serving the EAST conducted a search operation and recovered two T-56 weapons, two T-56 magazines, fifty-nine T-56 ammunition and two anti personnel mines from MALIGAVILA, BUTTALA on Thursday (11).
