COLOMBO: AN LTTE terrorist committed suicide by jumping off a seven-storied luxurious condominium in WELLAWATTA late last evening (14) when the troops swooped on it and found four explosive-laden LTTE suicide jackets, kept hidden in the terrorist’s apartment.
On reliable information received, troops assisted by local Police cordoned the seven storied residential apartment on 37th Lane, WELLAWATTA Thursday (14) evening around 9.10 p.m. Security Forces methodically encircled the specific luxurious apartment and stormed it in order to find the four suicide jackets.
But the terrorist who has been living in that posing as a student had scurried to the rear of his apartment and jumped off through one of the openings of the apartment as the Security Forces broke open and entered the premises.
The terrorist immediately succumbed to injuries after the fall and has now been identified as THEMUDARA PILLAI SACHINDARAN (23).
The dead body of the terrorist is lying at COLOMBO south (KALUBOWILA) hospital awaiting legal procedures. Investigations are still on.
