MULLAITTIVU: TROOPS on search and clear operations in the general area of KARIYAMULLAVAIKKAL recovered forty-three LTTE dead bodies, sixty-five T-56 weapons, two body-armours, one pouch, three helmets, thirteen explosive cans and one Outboard Motor (OBM) on Tuesday (12).
Meanwhile, troops recovered thirty-five 60 mm mortar bombs, one hundred 0.5 ammunition, one thousand five hundred and fifty Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) ammunition from CHUNDIKULAM area.
At the same time three T-56 weapons, twelve hand grenades, two magazines, forty-seven rounds of T-56 ammunition and two pouches were found by the troops from ASIKULAM.
In the meantime, troops recovered six Outboard Motors (OBM), one tri-pod, four 81mm mortar booby traps, seventeen detonators, nine pull-switches, two anti personnel mines, one C-4 bottle, one machine gun barrel, five Rocket Propelled Grenades, five improvised chargers, two claymore mines and eight hand grenades from the north of VISUAMDU and west of PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU areas.
Meanwhile troops during search and clear operations recovered one T-56 weapon with a magazine, thirty rounds of T-56 ammunition, one hand grenade and 2.5 kg of explosives from GALLELLA, POLONNARUWA on Tuesday (12).
