MULLAITTIVU: PANIC-STRICKEN Tiger terrorists Saturday (9) morning repeated their brutality in the remaining “No Fire Zone” and caused death to one more civil escapee and injured seventeen more civilians who were fleeing from LTTE grips.
Estimated 303 escapees were trying to enter troop-held areas across causeway in MULLAITTIVU when the terrorists stormed them and went on a shooting-spree to prevent them from deserting the LTTE.
Nine of the civilians died and 19 more received injuries, but they managed to reach troops. All the injured with the dead civilians were immediately airlifted to ANURADHAPURA hospital for treatment by the troops.
