Middle Grade Officers Learn More at Maduruoya Seminar

A three-day seminar, themed on Terrorism ‘Beyond the Mandate of Insurgency and Way Forward to Counter’ got underway recently at Army Training School (ATS), Maduruoya for three days for the benefit of trainee officers and senior officers of the Army, following directions given by Major General A.W.N.A.V.N Ranawana, Commandant, ATS.

The seminar attended by more than 90 participants and resource personnel received the blessings of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva.

Major General G.V.D.U.A Perera, Commandant, Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC), graced the occasion as the chief guest in the opening ceremony and delivered the keynote address.

The complete seminar, sequenced under seven sessions benefited the participants as it was an exercise to educate, encourage, develop, and prepare the middle grade officers and share knowledge on topical themes of terrorism and related issues.  

At the culmination of the three-day seminar, the participants of the seminar were awarded certificates by Major General K.J Alwis, Commander, Army Training Command (ARTRAC) together with Major General K.M.U Wijeratne, Commander, Security Forces - East (SF-E) during a brief ceremony.

The closing ceremony of the seminar was graced by Major General K.J Alwis, Commander, ARTRAC as the chief guest.
