In a successful joint operation, the Army Intelligence troops and the Police Special Task Force (STF), Nelliadi seized a large consignment of Kerala cannabis valued at approximately Rs. 400 lakh during the early hours of 15 June 2025 at the Polikandi beach in Valvettithurai.
The operation was launched following a tip-off received by the Intelligence troops, leading to the discovery of nearly 200 kilograms of Kerala cannabis concealed in 98 parcels. The contraband, along with a boat used for smuggling, had been illegally brought into the country via sea routes.
Security Forces acted swiftly and cordoned off the area, preventing any possible escape or further distribution. The seized narcotics and the boat have been handed over to the Valvettithurai Police Station for further investigation and legal proceedings.
