Army Returns 40.70 Acres of Land to Civilians in Jaffna

A Land Releasing Programme was conducted at the District Secretariat in Jaffna on 1 May 2025, marking the return of 40.70 acres of land, divided into three plots, to civilian ownership. The event was held under the guidance of Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, following detailed tactical and technical evaluations.

Mr. M. Pradeepan, District Secretary of Jaffna and Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Forces – Jaffna, graced the occasion.

Officials highlighted that the release was made in response to appeals by affected landowners and executed with transparency and accountability.
