Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, extolled the outstanding performance of Army shooters who emerged as the overall champions of the International Practical Shooting Confederation (IPSC) Rifle Nationals Level III-2025 competition, during a special felicitation held at the Army Headquarters on 23rd April 2025.
The commendation ceremony recognised the achievements of the team comprising 08 Officers and 21 Other Ranks, who showcased exceptional marksmanship across various categories in the nationally significant competition.
The event, organised by the National Rifle Association in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, was held over three thrilling days from 06th to 08th March 2025 at the Naval Firing Range in Poonewa. The competition brought together 213 marksmen from 12 groups representing the Tri-Services, Police as well as three marksmen from the Philippines.
Brigadier R.P Munipura RWP RSP, President of the Sri Lanka Army Small Arms Association, Senior Officers and coaching personnel who played a pivotal role in mentoring and guiding the Army marksmen to victory, were present in the occasion.
