Karadandara Tank embankment in Siyambalanduwa collapsed due to heavy rainfall. As per a request made by the Monaragala Disaster Management Centre, the troops of 18th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch, promptly responded and carried out repairs to the tank embankment on 18 and 19 March 2025.
This was conducted under the instructions of Major General W.S.N. Hemarathna RWP RSP psc, the General Officer Commanding of the 12 Infantry Division.
