The troops of Special Forces (SF) held a formal ceremony to bid farewell to the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment, Major General J.P.C Peiris RWP RSP ndc, at Regimental Centre on 18th March 2025.
Upon his arrival, the Senior Officer was warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant SLASF followed according a Guard Turnout at the entrance. The Senior Officer then reviewed the Guard of Honour presented by the troops.
Addressing the troops, the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment expressed his gratitude to All Ranks for their dedicative support throughout his career.
During the dinner night held at the Officers’ Mess of SF Regiment, mementos were presented to the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment as a token of appreciation for his unwavering service toward the Army and SF Regiment. Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of SF participated in the farewell ceremony.
Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP ndu psc has been appointed as new Colonel of the Regiment of SF Regiment.
