Sri Lanka Army holds its new Army Doctrinal Publication launching ceremony on 20 March 2025 at Army Headquarters. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
Upon arrival, the Chief Guest was warmly welcomed by Major General T.N. Majeed RSP USP ndc Isc, Director General of the Directorate of Research, Concept, and Doctrine (Dte of RCD).
Afterwards, the symbolic presentation of the new doctrinal publications to the Chief Guest by the Director General of the Directorate of Research, Concept, and Doctrine took place. The publications included Battle Procedure – English, Battle Procedure – Sinhala, Ground Orientation – English, Ground Orientation – Sinhala, Handbook - CSS Estimate, IS & CRW – Sinhala, MACA Book, Model Briefing & Verbal Orders – English, Organizing Operations Room and Log Keeping, Terrain Analysis – Sinhala, Model Briefing & Verbal Orders – Sinhala and Reconnaissance Pamphlet Terrain Analysis – English. These additions will further enrich the doctrinal resources available in the Army.
Following this, the Commander of the Army personally handed over doctrinal packs to selected participants, marking the official launch of the publications. To ensure widespread accessibility, electronic copies of all materials were uploaded to the Army e-portal, enabling personnel across the organisation to benefit from the updated doctrines.
The Chief of Staff, Senior Officers and Officers participated in the event.
