Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, hosted a cordial meeting at his office with cadet day instructors, recalling their significant role in shaping his military career.
The distinguished group of instructors included Warrant Officer I M.U.P Dharmadasa (Retd) of the Gajaba Regiment, Warrant Officer I M Padmanadan (Retd) of the Gajaba Regiment, Warrant Officer I S. Senarath Bandara (Retd) of Sri Lanka Artillery, Warrant Officer I W.A.R.S Amarasinghe (Retd) of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, Warrant Officer II A.S.L Fernando (Retd) of the Gajaba Regiment and Staff Sergeant D.D.C.K Silva (Retd) of Sri Lanka Artillery.
These Senior Non-commissioned Officers served as instructors at the Sri Lanka Military Academy when the Army Chief underwent his military training in Intake 31 - IMA at Diyatalawa from 1989 to 1990.
The event was also attended by Major General M.G.W.W.W.M.C.B Wickramasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc, Chief of Staff, Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Deputy Chief of Staff and Brigadier K.G.K.H Wijewardane RSP USP, Director of Army Medical Services, all of whom were trained together in the same intake with the Commander of the Army.
