Under the guidance of Major General Y.A.B.M Yahampath RWP RSP ndu psc, Commander, Security Force - Jaffna, and Major General B.G.S Fernando USP Hdmc psc, General Officer Commanding, 55 Infantry Division, the first phase of the Clean Sri Lanka programme was conducted at Sri Vigneswaram College, Poonaryn, on 20 February 2025.
Under the supervision of Brigadier C.D Welagedara USP IG, Commander of the 552 Infantry Brigade, the initiative involved cleaning the school premises and repairing unusable furniture and equipment to enhance the learning environment.
Meanwhile, the 55 Infantry Division led a parallel effort at KN/Murugananda College, Murasumoddai, Kilinochchi, focusing on infrastructure improvement and environmental sustainability. The programme included tree planting, school furniture repairs, and a comprehensive cleaning campaign.
Meanwhile, the troops of the 2nd Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard conducted a school cleaning and furniture repair initiative at Nachchikuda G.M.M School on 28 February 2025.
Senior Officers, Officers, and government officials participated in the initiative.
