Troops of SF - Wanni Engage in School Cleaning Campaign

Under the guidance of Major General W.W.M.P.W.W.B.R Palamakumbura RWP RSP, General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division and supervision of Commanders of the 212 and 561 Infantry Brigades, troops conducted a cleaning programme in schools located in Security Forces - Wanni as part of the first phase of the Clean Sri Lanka initiative.

Troops carried out cleaning activities at Galkiriyagama Central College, Ganebidunuwewa Primary Model School, Budugehinna School, Eppawala Sumangala Maha Vidyalaya, Kele Divulwewa School, Welioya Kalyanipura Maha Vidyalaya, Nedunkeni Maha Vidyalaya, and Olumadu Tamil Maha Vidyalaya.

Meanwhile, troops of the 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment conducted a cleaning programme at GTM Primary School in Kalliyadi on 17 February 2025.

Meanwhile, troops of the 561 Infantry Brigade, under the guidance of Commander, 561 Brigade conducted a cleaning programme at Palinagar Maha Vidyalaya, Palinagar, on 25 February 2025. The initiative involved cutting grass and clearing garbage in and around the classrooms and school surroundings.

In the meanwhile, under the supervision of the Commander of the 211 Infantry Brigade, troops of the 5 (V) Gajaba Regiment conducted a cleaning programme by cutting branches of trees in Bandara Ulpatha Vidyalaya area on 24 February 2025.

Meanwhile, troops of the 10 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) assisted in a school ground cleaning programme at Mu/Kokkilai Government Tamil Mixed School on 27 February 2025 under the supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 10 SLSR.

In the meanwhile, troops of the 212 Infantry Brigade, assisted civilians for cleaning and minor renovation work in several schools on 27 February 2025. The schools that benefited from this initiative included Sri Rahula Maha Vidyalaya in Maradankadawala, Kallanchiyagama Muslim School, Sri Rewatha Central College in Madatugama, Ihala Bulnewa Maha Vidyalaya in Bulnewa, and Mawathtegama Vidyalaya in Kalankuttiya.

In the meantime, troops of the 6th Battalion, the Gemunu Watch, conducted a cleaning programme at M/Mungilaru Primary School, Udayarkattu on 10 March 2025 with the participation of civilians in the area.

Simillarly, troops of the 6 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard conducted a cleaning programme in Mulliwikkal (E) on 10 March 2025 with the participation of civilians in the area.

Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, teachers, and parents participated in the event.
