The 144 Infantry Brigade, under the direction of the Commander of the Army, conducted a large-scale cleaning programme on 15th February 2025, as part of the government's Clean Sri Lanka initiative. The programme targeted key areas such as Polduwa Road, Parliament Road, Sri Lanka-Japan Friendship Road, the Thurumithiru Project area, and Diyawanna Lake.
The event was attended by the Hon. Deputy Minister of Industries and Commerce, Chathura Abeysinghe, and the Serjeant-at-Arms of Parliament, Mr. Kushan Jayaratne. Participants included troops from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Police, Special Task Force, and Civil Defence Force, along with personnel from various government departments, organizations, and Parliament staff.
