Newly Appointed Deputy Chief of Staff Assumes Duties

Major General A.H.L.G Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, of Sri Lanka Engineers officially assumed duties as the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCOS) of the Sri Lanka Army on 14th February 2025.

The formal ceremony commenced with the chanting of Seth Pirith by the Maha Sangha, invoking blessings for his tenure ahead. In a symbolic gesture of assuming office, he signed an official document, marking the commencement of his responsibilities as the DCOS. Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army visited the DCOS office after the assumption of duties and extended his best wishes to newly appointed DCOS.

His distinguished career includes recent key appointments such as the Overlooking Commandant of the Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force, Commander Security Forces (West), and Overall Operations Commander (Western Province & Puttalam District). These roles have exhibited his strategic and operational expertise, equipping him to excel in the new position.

The ceremonial event was graced by Principal Staff Officers, Directors, Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks at the DCOS office. They extended their heartfelt best wishes to him expressing confidence in his leadership and vision for the Army as he embarks on this significant responsibility.
