The Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) bade farewell to Major General W.P.A.D.W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, the former Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and Colonel of the Regiment, SLSR, on 8th February 2025 at the Regimental Centre, Ambepussa.
Upon his arrival, he was welcomed by Deputy Centre Commandant of SLSR, and accorded a Guard Turnout at the main entrance, followed by a Guard of Honour. He then paid tribute at the fallen war heroes' monument of SLSR.
Later, he attended an All-Ranks tea and shared a few thoughts with the attendees.
At the conclusion of the event, a glamorous guest night was held, during which a special memento was presented to the outgoing Colonel of the Regiment by Major General J.K.R Jayakody RWP USP, General Officer Commanding of the 58 Infantry Division.
Council members, Senior Officers, Officers, Retired Officers of SLSR, and Relatives and Visitors of the outgoing Senior Officer attended the event.
