Commander of the Army Receives Blessings from Venerable Nayaka Thero

Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, the Commander of the Army, along with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), received blessings from the Most Venerable Dr. Kirinde Assaji Nayaka Thero, the Chief Incumbent of the Gangaramaya Temple, on 19th January 2025 after assuming his duties.

During the cordial meeting, the Most Venerable Nayaka Thero invoked blessings upon the Commander of the Army, wishing him strength, wisdom, and discernment to lead the Army with honour and dedication.

The Army Chief then conveyed his sincere appreciation to the Most Venerable Nayaka Thero for his guidance and blessings. He pledged his unwavering dedication to preserving the principles and duties entrusted to the Army.

The conversation brought to light the strong cultural and spiritual ties that exist between the country's religious establishment and the Sri Lanka Army.
